The short answer

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.

Erwin Hymer Group North America, Inc.

(Erwin Hymer) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Roadtrek E-trek, CS Adventurous, RS Adventurous, SS Agile, Zion, Zion SRT, Simplicity, Simplicity SRT, Hymer Aktiv, Aktiv 2.0, Sonne, Carado Banff, Axion, and Sunlight Van One vehicles.

These motorhomes are equipped with Kidde E10 or EH10 Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
