The short answer

NHTSA received Sunright International Of America, Inc.’s report on Sep 11, 2018. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the helmet does not remain secured to the rider’s head in the event of a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.

Sunright International of America, Inc.

(Sunright) is recalling certain Rodia RHD200 and Rodia RHD200V helmets in all sizes manufactured August 1, 2008-July 31, 2018.

When load is applied to the helmet such as in the event of a crash, the chin strap may stretch, allowing the helmet to separate from the rider’s head.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, “Motorcycle Helmets.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
