What’s wrong with it?
If the lug nuts bottom out before they are properly tightened, they may come loose, affecting wheel mounting and causing a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
TAP Worldwide LLC (TAP) is recalling certain Pro Comp Extended Thread Lug Nuts, part numbers 21138, 21138B, and 26148 marketed as an accessory to be used with Pro Comp accessory or aftermarket wheels.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
