The short answer

NHTSA received Robert Bosch LLC’s report on Jun 19, 2018. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 24, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Robert Bosch LLC (Bosch) has submitted a Defect Information Report based upon decisions made by Ford Motor Company and General Motors to conduct recalls (numbers 18V392 and 18V358 respectively) to inspect and replace certain Robert Bosch HDP5 High Pressure Fuel Pump Assemblies, part numbers 0261520518 and 0261520515.

Welds between the pump housing and the mounting flange may fracture, possibly causing a fuel leak.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
