What’s wrong with it?

If the secondary battery grounding wire cannot be properly attached after installing the Cold Air Intake Kit, the fuse box may melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

S&B Filters, Inc.

(S&B Filters) is recalling certain Cold Air Intake Kits, part numbers 75-5085 and 75-5085D, sold for aftermarket installation on Ford Super Duty Powerstroke 6.7L diesel trucks.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
