The short answer

NHTSA received Forest River, Inc.’s report on Dec 21, 2017. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 28, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the tubes are misaligned, carbon monoxide could enter the passenger compartment, increasing the risk of illness or death. Additionally, flames may escape the furnace during start up, increasing the risk of a fire.

Forest River, Inc.

(Forest River) is recalling certain 2018 Prime Time Crusader and Sanibel recreational trailers.

A bracket used to secure the furnace in place may be missing, allowing the furnace to shift, possibly resulting in the fresh air intake and the furnace exhaust tubes being misaligned with the furnace.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
