The short answer

NHTSA received REV Recreation Group’s report on Nov 17, 2017. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

REV Recreation Group (REV) is recalling certain 2009-2010 and 2012-2014 Holiday Rambler Ambassador, 2010 and 2013-2014 Endeavor, 2009-2010 Neptune, 2010 Scepter, and 2011 Trip diesel motorhomes, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button ‘Pindicator’ Fire Extinguishers.

These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher.

Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
