The short answer

NHTSA received Polaris Industries, Inc.’s report on Oct 12, 2017. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 22, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A melted rear brake line can reduce braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash.

Polaris Industries, Inc.

(Polaris) is recalling certain 2010-2017 Victory Cross Country, Cross Country Tour, Cross Roads, Magnum, and Hard Ball motorcycles.

If the engine misfires, continued riding may result in heat from the catalytic converter melting the rear brake line and nearby wiring.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
