The short answer
NHTSA received Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC’s report on May 25, 2017. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 19, 2026.
Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Without the change to the flash and chime rate, the driver may not know that a turn signal is not working. If the turn signal is not working, other drivers will not be aware that the vehicle is turning, increasing the risk of a crash.
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2018 Jaguar F-TYPE vehicles equipped with Highline headlamps.
If a front turn signal indicator stops working, the visual and audible turn signal reminders do not flash or chime faster as required.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
