What’s wrong with it?
The incorrect information may result in a user unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of the crash.
Forest River Inc.
(Forest River) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Cherokee recreational trailers.
The Federal Placards on these vehicles incorrectly state a Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) of 3,970 lbs., when the actual capacity is 3,500 lbs.
The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is also incorrect.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
