Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
If the brakes apply and the vehicle stops unexpectedly, it can increase the risk of a crash.
Schwarze Industries, Inc.
(Schwarze) is recalling certain 2013-2017 A7 Tornado, A8 Twister, A9 Monsoon, and M6 Avalanche street sweepers.
The air brake systems on these vehicles may have been manufactured with the wrong fittings, causing the brake lines to leak air, possibly resulting in the vehicle stopping unexpectedly.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, “Air Brake Systems.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
