What’s wrong with it?
Arcing in the presence of power steering fluid leak under high pressure could increase the risk of a fire.
Forest River, Inc.
(Forest River) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Berkshire and Charleston recreational vehicles built on Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) RV chassis.
In these vehicles, the power steering hose may be improperly routed causing inadequate clearance between the hose and power stud.
As a result, the hose can rub the power stud causing arcing and a power steering fluid leak.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
