What’s wrong with it?
If the water pattern changes or the firefighter loses control of the hose, the fire fighting efforts may be hindered, increasing the risk of injury.
Akron Brass Company (Akron Brass) is recalling certain Ultrajet Style 1820 fire hose nozzles.
These nozzles may fracture at the connection point between the nozzle body and the shutoff body, potentially causing the water flow pattern to change or the firefighter to lose control of the hose.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
