Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
A reduction in water pressure may hinder fire fighting efforts, increasing the risk of injury.
Hale Products Inc.
(Hale) is recalling certain retaining rings, part number 077-0750-21-0, that secure the pressure relief valve in the water pumps used for fire fighting.
These rings may corrode over time after exposure to water, causing the ring to fail and the pressure relief valve to open, reducing the available water pressure.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
