What’s wrong with it?
If a door opens in a crash there would be an increased risk of injury.
TriMark Corporation (TriMark) is recalling certain door striker bolts, model number 070-0100, assembled into door systems for ambulance manufacturers and distributors.
The striker bolts may fail under load allowing the doors to open in the event of a crash.
As such, these bolts fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, “Door locks and door retention components.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
