The short answer

NHTSA received Dorman Products, Inc.’s report on Jul 3, 2017. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the anti-pinch function does not perform as intended during either the accidental or intentional activation of the auto-up feature of the switch, there would be an increased risk of an injury.

Dorman Products, Inc.

(Dorman) is recalling certain aftermarket power window switches, Dorman-brand part numbers 901-601 and 901-370, and Solutions-brand part numbers 730-7444-1 and 730-7630-1.

When the switch has been activated to raise the window, if something, such as a finger, is between the window glass and the window frame, the switch will not auto-reverse to prevent an injury.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, “Power-Operated Window Systems.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
