What’s wrong with it?
If the interlock switch fails, it can delay water delivery when battling a fire, increasing the risk of injury.
Hale Products Inc.
(Hale) is recalling certain Fire Pump Engagement Pressure Switches, part number 200-2560-00-0.
These pressure switches are used to initiate the fire pump gearbox engagement with an interlock module when retrofitted to existing air shift control for the fire pump.
These switches may fail during extremely cold temperatures, preventing the truck’s water pump from being put into gear.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
