What’s wrong with it?
If the hopper detaches, it can increase the risk of injury to those nearby.
Johnston North America (Johnston) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 VT651 and VT801 street sweepers manufactured May 1, 2013, to October 13, 2016.
The affected street sweepers have tipping hinges that may crack, allowing the hopper to detach from the chassis.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
