The short answer

NHTSA received Jumping Jack, Inc.’s report on Aug 23, 2016. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 19, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A separation of the torsion arm can result in a reduction in vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Jumping Jack, Inc.

(Jumping Jack) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 utility trailers, in sizes Standard 6’x8’ and Mid 6’x12’, manufactured August 15, 2014, to August 31, 2015.

The torsion arm of the axle assembly was made too small for its housing, and as a result, the torsion arm, spindle, and tire and wheel assemblies may detach from the trailer.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
