The short answer

NHTSA received Braun Corporation’s report on Jul 26, 2016. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 19, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

The crushed seat harness may prevent correct passenger air bag deployment, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant in the event of a crash.

Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain model year 2016 MXV vehicles manufactured February 8, 2016, to June 23, 2016 and built on a Ford Explorer chassis.

The passenger seat electrical harness may be incorrectly routed and can be crushed between the seat structure and the seat riser manufactured as part of the wheelchair accessible conversion.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
