Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
A sudden loss of an engine brake without warning on a motorhome may lead to a reduced brake ability, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
Winnebago Industries, Inc.
(Winnebago) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Winnebago Tour motorhomes manufactured May 25, 2013, to November 25, 2015, and Itasca Ellipse motorhomes manufactured May 25, 2013, to November 18, 2015.
The throttle pedal position sensor on the affected vehicles may not return to zero, causing the engine brake to suddenly not activate as expected, reducing the vehicle’s deceleration ability.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
