The short answer

NHTSA received Terex South Dakota, Inc.’s report on Mar 16, 2016. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 23, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the outrigger lifts off the ground, causing instability of the truck, it can increase the risk of injury to the operator.

Terex South Dakota, Inc.

(Terex) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 C5000, C6000, General 80, RMX, TM100, and TM125 aerial devices, and digger derrick lifts installed on trucks manufactured August 4, 2015, to February 16, 2016.

The suspension circuit can inflate the suspension air bags on the affected vehicles if the Master/PTO switch or ignition is turned off in the cab while the boom is in the raised position.

This can cause the frame to rise, lifting the outriggers from the ground.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
