Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Should the tube crack and separate from the shaft of the vehicle, loss of vehicle control is possible, increasing the risk of a crash.
Setra of North America (Setra) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 S417 coaches manufactured March 1, 2005, to February 28, 2009, that had service part lower control arm(s) installed.
The hot crimping that connects the tube ends to the control arm joint housing shafts may crack, causing the tube to separate from the shaft.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
