Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Inoperative wipers during inclement weather can decrease driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2012 Genesis vehicles manufactured August 1, 2011, to April 30, 2012, and 2011-2013 Equus vehicles manufactured July 10, 2011, to June 12, 2012.
The windshield wiper motor cover seal on the affected vehicles may degrade allowing corrosion on the wiper motor’s circuit board.
The corrosion can cause intermittent or total loss of wiper function.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
