The short answer

NHTSA received Open Range R.V. Company’s report on Feb 26, 2016. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the owners load the trailers based on the incorrect labels, the trailers may be overloaded, resulting in tire failure, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Open Range R.V.

Company (Open Range) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Mesa Ridge and Roamer trailers, and 2013-2014 Light trailers manufactured March 23, 2011, to March 20, 2014.

In the affected fifth wheel and travel trailers, the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) calculation on the label may be incorrect, which may result in the overloading of the vehicles.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
