The short answer

NHTSA received Forest River, Inc.’s report on Feb 18, 2016. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 19, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Without the GVWR listed on the label, the operator may overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Forest River, Inc.

(Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2016 Coachmen Galleria motorhomes manufactured from October 30, 2015, through February 15, 2016.

The Federal Placards on the affected vehicles incorrectly lists the number of seatbelts as zero.

Additionally, the placards did not factor in the fresh water capacity in the vehicle weight calculation and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is missing from the label.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
