Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.
Foretravel, Inc.
(Foretravel) is recalling certain model year 2008 Nimbus motorhomes manufactured July 9, 2007, to March 25, 2008.
The affected vehicles are equipped with certain Lippert-brand Coachstep Double Electric Steps.
These steps use a bolt to attach the fan gear assembly to the steps.
This bolt may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps.
As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may be unstable.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
