What’s wrong with it?
Although, the seat belt will operate as intended in the event of a crash, if the MGG detaches, it may be a projectile within the vehicle cabin, increasing the risk of injury.
Autoliv, Inc.
(Autoliv) is recalling certain seatbelt retractors equipped with pretensioners, models R200, R200 Long and R200.1, manufactured April 10, 2016, to October 15, 2016.
The Micro Gas Generator (MGG), a subcomponent part used on front, rear, and rear center seat belt retractors with pretensioners, may detach after the seatbelt retractor pretensioner is deployed.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
