The short answer

NHTSA received Winnebago Industries, Inc’s report on Dec 22, 2015. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 23, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the steps extend while the vehicle is being driven, the steps may strike a person or another vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

Winnebago Industries, Inc.

(Winnebago) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Winnebago Sightseer, Vista, and Adventurer motorhomes manufactured August 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015, and 2015-2016 Itasca Sunova, Sunstar, and Suncruiser motorhomes manufactured August 1, 2014, through August 31, 2015.

The affected vehicles have electrically operated entry/exit steps that may extend down and out while the vehicle is moving.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
