What’s wrong with it?
If the caliper detaches from the axle flange, braking performance would be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
Vanguard National Trailer Corporation (Vanguard) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 CIMC Dry Freight and Refrigerated trailers manufactured October 22, 2014, to October 2, 2015, and equipped with certain Meritor EX225L2 or EX225L+ axles.
The affected axle assemblies have caliper bolts that may not have been properly tightened, allowing the caliper mounting bolts to back out and the caliper to detach from the axle flange.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
