Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
If the caliper detaches from the axle flange, braking performance would be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Van Trailers manufactured December 9, 2013, to August 25, 2015, and equipped with certain Meritor EX225L2, EX225L+, and Bendix ADB22X axles.
The affected axle assemblies have brake caliper mounting bolts that may not have been properly tightened, allowing the caliper mounting bolts to back out and the caliper to detach from the axle flange.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
