What’s wrong with it?
If the vehicle can be shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied, the vehicle may unintentionally move, increasing the risk of a crash.
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain model year 2016 Bay Star Sport, Bay Star, and Canyon Star vehicles manufactured July 8, 2015, to September 23, 2015.
Due to an incorrect shift cable bracket and an improper shift cable adjustment, the affected vehicles can be shifted out of ‘PARK’ without applying the brakes.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
