Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
The protective coating may not eliminate the risk that the circuit board could short and result in a fire, even while the vehicle is unattended.
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer and GMC Envoy vehicles, and 2006 GMC Envoy XL and Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT vehicles.
Fluid may enter into the driver’s door master power window switch module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board, causing window switches to become inoperative.
Previously, the affected vehicles may have had their master power window switch module treated with a protective coating, instead of having it replaced.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
