What’s wrong with it?
A loss of steering increases the risk of a crash.
New Flyer Industries Ltd.
(New Flyer) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 New Flyer XDE40 and XD40, 2014 XD60, XN35 and XN60, 2015 XDE35, and 2013-2015 XN40 transit buses.
The affected vehicles may be equipped with an improperly torqued front axle center link retaining clamp on the tie rod.
As a result, the tie rod may disconnect, causing a loss of steering.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
