What’s wrong with it?
If the PRD does not activate in the event of a buildup of pressure, the CNG tank may explode, increasing the risk of fire and injury.
McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc.
(McNeilus) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 CNG Refuse and Concrete trucks manufactured July 30, 2014, to July 10, 2015.
The affected vehicles are powered with compressed natural gas (CNG) and are equipped with pressure relief devices (PRD) that may not function as designed, failing to vent a buildup of pressure, such as could occur if the CNG tank was exposed to fire.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
