What’s wrong with it?
If the air brake system reservoir has as insufficient volume, braking performance may be affected, increasing the risk of a crash.
Mack Trucks, Inc.
(Mack) is recalling certain model year 2011-2016 Granite (GU) trucks manufactured September 24, 2011, to July 1, 2015.
The affected trucks may be equipped with an air brake system reservoir that does not have a sufficient volume.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, “Air Brake Systems.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
