What’s wrong with it?
Failure of the washers can cause the bolted joints to loosen, causing detachment of the trailer’s structural components, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fontaine Trailer Company (Fontaine) is recalling certain model year 2016 Revolution flat deck platform and step deck platform semi-trailers manufactured April 20, 2015, to May 13, 2015.
In the affected trailers, the hardened washers used in the bolted connections that secure the upper coupler, landing gear and suspensions to the trailer sub-frame may crack.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
