The short answer

NHTSA received Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC’s report on Feb 6, 2015. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 19, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the engine seizes there is an increased risk of a crash.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling one model year 2015 Range Rover Sport vehicle manufactured November 16, 2014, and one 2015 LR4 vehicle manufactured November 11, 2014.

In the affected vehicles, the 3.0L V6 supercharged engines may have improperly torqued connecting rod bolts.

As a result, the connecting rod may separate from the crankshaft and the engine may seize.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
