What’s wrong with it?
If the cradle fails, a bicycle on the cradle may partially or fully fall from the rack, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Cequent Consumer Products, Inc.
(Cequent) is recalling certain model Reese Explore Bike Carriers, part numbers 1392900 (two-bike trunk mount bike carrier), 1393100 (four-bike hitch mount bike carrier), and 6314400 (four-bike hitch mount bike carrier), manufactured from January 1, 2015, through July 17, 2015.
The affected bike carriers have cradles that may have been molded incorrectly, which can cause the cradle to rip and fail.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
