What’s wrong with it?

If suspension bolt fractures it can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of vehicle crash.

Specialty Products Company (SPC) is recalling certain aftermarket alignment hardware kits, part number 28810 (for use on certain 1999-2015 Mercedes-Benz vehicles), and part number 66037 (for use on 2005-2015 Chrysler 300 & 300C, 2006-2008 Dodge Magnum and 2008-2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger vehicles) that were sold by Specialty Products Company between March 9, 2015 and June 22, 2015.

The affected suspension bolts may fracture.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
