What’s wrong with it?
If the hex nuts are not tightened to specification, the driveshaft may disconnect from the drive axle, resulting in a loss of propulsion and increasing the risk of a crash.
Marmon-Herrington is recalling certain drive axles, model numbers MT14, MT17, MT22, R17 and R22, manufactured July 28, 2014, to July 22, 2015.
The affected axles are equipped with hex nuts on the flange yoke that may not have been properly tightened.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
