What’s wrong with it?
A rack that does not snugly fit the roof may eject from the vehicle while it is in motion increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Yakima Products, Inc.
(Yakima) is recalling certain Q-Tower Roof Racks, part numbers 8000124 and 8000135, manufactured January 26, 2015, to May 26, 2015, and Q-Tower Stripped Replacement towers, part number 8880048, manufactured April 1, 2015, to April 15, 2015.
The affected roof racks have crossbar clamping wedges that may slide on the crossbars during the installation process, causing the rack to have a loose fit on the vehicle.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
