What’s wrong with it?
If the rear bus door opens while the bus is in motion, there is an increased risk of injury for the passengers.
Vapor Bus International (Vapor Bus) is recalling certain ETO Controller Assemblies, part number 51220550, manufactured March 7, 2013, to April 12, 2015.
These assemblies, which control the door operator motor and brake, may have a software defect which can cause the rear passenger doors to open, without warning, when the bus accelerates from a stopped position.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
