What’s wrong with it?
If the seat belt locking mechanism does not function as intended, the bus driver may not be properly restrained, increasing the risk of personal injury in the event of a crash.
Gillig LLC (Gillig) is recalling one Recaro Automotive Seating Ergo M bus driver seat sold through the Gilig aftermarket parts department.
The affected seat was manufactured in a way that the tether bar may push into the retractor panel door and potentially interfere with the seat belt locking mechanism.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
