What’s wrong with it?
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Cummins Inc.
(Cummins) is recalling certain QSK50 Tier 2 Dual Fuel Engines manufactured January 15, 2013, through January 15, 2015, designed for use on oil well fracturing rigs.
These dual fuel engines may operate on either diesel fuel plus gaseous fuel or diesel fuel only.
The gaseous fuel inlet connection elbow for the engines may crack, causing a fuel leak during engine operation.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
