The short answer

NHTSA received Altec Industries Inc.’s report on Nov 21, 2014. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

In cooler temperatures, the improperly set hydraulic pressure transducer may result in inadvertent boom movement, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant or those nearby.

Altec Industries Inc.

(Altec) is recalling certain model year 1999-2014 aerial devices models A65, A70, A75, A72-, A/77-T, A82-T, A72-TE88, and A77-TE93 manufactured January 1, 1999, to July 15, 2014.

The affected aerial devices may have an improperly set hydraulic pressure transducer which relieves excessive backpressure in the hydraulic tank circuit.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
