Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
If the user inflates the tire to the incorrect psi noted on the label, a tire blowout could occur, increasing the risk of a crash.
Starcraft RV (Starcraft) is recalling certain model year 2015 16RB Launch travel trailers equipped with the Extreme Package Option, manufactured April 16, 2014, to April 21, 2014.
The information on the Federal ID label incorrectly indicates an 80psi cold tire inflation pressure instead of the correct pressure of 50psi.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 120, “Tire selection and rims and motor home/recreation vehicle trailer load carrying capacity information for motor vehicles with a GVWR of more than 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds).”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
