Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Low bolt torque may result in a loss of brake line air pressure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Autocar Industries, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Xpert vehicles manufactured July 11, 2011, through March 5, 2014.
The bolts securing the brake valve to the cab may be below the required torque which could cause a failure in the connection of the airlines and the brake valve.
Thus, the vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, “Air Brake Systems.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
