The short answer

NHTSA received Wheeled Coach Industries, Inc.’s report on Apr 16, 2014. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 25, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

The momentary loss of power may cause the ECX timer to begin a five minute countdown, after which the timer would disconnect the power supplied to the electrical systems in the patient area of the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury to the occupants.

Wheeled Coach Industries (Wheeled Coach) is recalling certain model year 2010 M2, 2013-2014 T1, T2, and T3, and 2014 Terrastar ambulances, equipped with ECX Timer part number EL00230 manufactured by ECX Electronics Corporation.

The ECX timer may experience a momentary loss of power when starting the vehicle.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
