Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Installing a tire of incorrect size could result in excessive tire wear and may cause instability in towing of the travel trailer which could increase the risk of a crash.
Starcraft RV, Inc.
(Starcraft) is recalling certain model year 2014 Launch 17FB and 17SB travel trailers manufactured May 5, 2013, through December 9, 2013, and equipped with the extreme package option.
There is incorrect tire size information printed on the federal labels.
The tire information on the label states the tire size as 14C when it should be tire size 15C.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119, “New Pneumatic Tires for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of more than 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) and Motorcycles.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
